ICC COLLEGE HISTORY
“ICC College started with almost nothing — just a dream, a few computers, and the courage to begin.”
John Raem comes from the K-Witi Tribe in Baiyer District, Western Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. He began his academic journey with a Diploma in Electrical Technology from Don Bosco Technological Institute (DBTI) in 2008. Earlier, in 2011, he was awarded a prestigious Indonesian Government scholarship and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Information System Engineering at Indonesia Computer University (UNIKOM) one of the top ranked universities in Asia Pacific for excellence in ICT innovation.
Upon returning to Papua New Guinea, he served as a trainer at the International Training Institute (ITI) starting in 2016, and later joined the Institute of Business Studies (IBS) as an Assistant ICT Lecturer from 2022 to 2024. During this time, he quietly invested his earnings into establishing his own college, driven by a deep desire to empower Papua New Guineans with a education that is more than just a traditional education.
Despite economic hardship and limited resources, Mr. Raem remained determined. He dreamed of building an institution that would stand for more than just academics - it would become a national hub of technology, entrepreneurship, research, and patriotism.
Today, ICC College continues to grow as a symbol of resilience, vision, and purpose. With these four core pillars at its foundation, ICC is on a mission to become one of the most advanced and respected institutions in Papua New Guinea, the Pacific region, and beyond.
nternational Computer College (ICC) was founded by John Raem, a visionary educator and technologist, in 2022. Though the college was established that year, it officially opened its doors on March 16, 2024, enrolling its first 11 pioneering students.

With humble beginnings, ICC launched with two computer laboratories and one lecture room - only one computer lab was fully equipped with new computers, while the other awaited resources, reflecting the founder’s courage to begin with limited means.
